Massive blaze erupts at Chevron's refinery in El Segundo

KTLA 5 reported on the large fire at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo that erupted in October 2025, prompting shelter-in-place orders and impacting surrounding South Bay communities.

This incident is the subject of Coffey v. Chevron U.S.A. Inc., et al., Case No. 2:25-cv-09699-MWC-BFM, pending in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. The case is in active litigation. No determination of liability has been made.
